I was definitely guilty of buying things for future me / my „fantasy-self“ or for possible future events especially shoes and dresses. Now I’m much more intentional about about my purchases and also really appreciate pieces I can dress up or dress down easily.

I have a very specific exception to the "don't buy things that are not for your current self" When I decided to recover from my ED, I bought a bunch of cute clothes that were for my old, healthy size, and it made the thought of gaining weight way less upsetting 💙 It's the opposite of keeping clothes that are too small and make you feel bad about yourself

i'm basically in the process of slowly revamping my entire wardrobe specifically because in college I bought way too many teeny tiny tops and short bottoms that I now recoil at the thought of wearing, i've also learned to be comfortable ordering clothes from trendy places where everything is super cropped (and seemingly not made with larger chested girlies in mind) in a size up so that they don't fit me like barbie doll clothes

I was guilty of buying cheaper versions of things because I couldn't justify the price in the first place, only to end up buying another item because I was not satisfied with the first one, ultimately spending even more money... I finally learned to just buy the things I really like and want, and it has been a life changer!!

Really nice but I think the ideal shoe is a flat leather sandal when it is hot. A vast majority of women wear that in France or Italy during summer.

Omg I'm so glad wearing sneakers with dresses has become acceptably stylish! As a millennial who traveled a lot in Europe from 2010-2014sih, I struggled so much walking around in my "fashionable" shoes and often just gave up and wore my sneakers with dresses but felt so frumpy.
